Eightertainment JAM album thoughts
Jul. 1st, 2017 02:45 pmI’m a relatively recent fan compared to many on this site. So this is my first ever K8 album that I’ve listen in full. So i thought ill try to comment on it even though i can’t speak Japanese and the lyrics aren’t out yet. So I have little idea what their saying other than a couple of words and this is based solely on the melodies itself. Also base on oricon, this album sold nearly 290k albums in just 3 days
My favourite among the new songs:
My least favourites among the new songs:
do nai and jam lady- i just didnt like do nai melody and im sorry yasu but jam lady is weird
how the songs compare to each other:
Verdict: im person who usually is indifferent to 70% of songs in an album even by the best of artists, is very surprised by the fact im like most of the songs. One thing for sure I cant wait for the concert. its probably one of their best!
My favourite among the new songs:
- Ikiro- written by subaru. this my favourite song of the album. It has a classic pop rock vibe. the intro is best part and the guitar riffs. good for late night car rides
- Nostalgia- (youngest 4 unit) a song that sounds like a modern mainstream american song? is this JE? again, the intro is really my favourite part. this got me swinging my arms singing “oooh ooohh ooohh ooohhh”. good for a beach party.
- Eigetsunai-this is an addictive and head bopping song imo. the best part? the rap battle among members. Kura dissing Yasu’s height n hair, yasu dissing kura eating habits, Subaru surprisngly good rap abt yoko’s forgetfulness n drinking habits, and Maru being scared of Ryo, cant wait to see it live. good for jogging
- 7 korobi 8 oki-similar to katte ni shiagare and just or even more fun. its loud though so i dont recommend listen via headphones. You will be shouting “1,2,1,2,” trust me. great for a music festival.
- Noroshi- this is not a new song. but i love noroshi ok
My least favourites among the new songs:
do nai and jam lady- i just didnt like do nai melody and im sorry yasu but jam lady is weird
how the songs compare to each other:
- ballads: Yume he no Kaerimichi > Seishun no subete. seishun has a great chorus. perfect for belting at karaoke but the 90s rnb music arrangement is just too jarring for me and the intro isn’t as good as the chorus. Yume is better overall
- Best member written songs: Ikiro>Traffic> Never say Never>>>>Jam Lady
- Best drama/movie OST: Samurai Song>Naguraki Beat>Never Say Never & Panorama. I love samurai song its been a favourite since it debut in 2015 but i dont know why a 2 year old song is in this album
- Best Unit song: Nostalgia > Answer
Verdict: im person who usually is indifferent to 70% of songs in an album even by the best of artists, is very surprised by the fact im like most of the songs. One thing for sure I cant wait for the concert. its probably one of their best!
